Taking Your Part 2 in Swindon

Swindon doesn't offer the ADI Part 2 test. As of writing, Chippenham is our closest test centre that does.

What DVSA actually requires

Part 2 is a test of your own driving ability, assessed to a higher standard than a normal test, and marked against the national standard for driving cars. Why our approach to Part 2 goes further than "pass it"

Part 2 is a test of minimum standard, that's genuinely all it's designed to measure. But the training behind it matters far more than that number suggests. It's not just about slowing down and checking your mirrors more.

Proper Part 2 training is about understanding why you're doing what you do, and when, not just doing it correctly. That understanding is what Part 3 is actually built on. Once you're teaching learners, you need to know what you're looking for in their driving, and why it matters, because your own standard becomes the benchmark you hold your pupils to.

It all overlaps

Part 1's knowledge, Part 2's driving standard, and Part 3's teaching ability aren't three separate hurdles, they build directly on each other. The preparation you put into Part 2 carries more weight for your long-term development as an instructor than the test itself ever will.
